1. Overview
EngABC is a Chrome extension that provides bilingual captions and listening controls on YouTube video pages. Most processing takes place locally in your browser. We do not operate an EngABC account system or analytics service.
2. Information handled
To provide its visible features, EngABC reads the current YouTube video address, caption tracks and text, playback state, and your interactions with the caption interface. Display preferences are saved in Chrome local storage on your device.
This information is used only to display captions, synchronize playback, search caption text, remember settings, and provide word definitions that you request.
3. Data sent to third parties
When you hover over or select an English word to request a definition, that word is sent over HTTPS to Youdao Dictionary. YouTube supplies video and caption data under its own terms and privacy practices. EngABC does not control how these third-party services process information.
We do not send complete caption transcripts or your stored display settings to an EngABC server.
4. Storage and deletion
Your display preferences remain in Chrome local storage until you reset them, clear extension storage, or uninstall EngABC. EngABC does not maintain a remote copy. You can delete locally stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's storage in Chrome.
5. Sharing and prohibited uses
We do not sell user data, use it for personalized advertising, build advertising profiles, or allow humans to read your captions. The selected word is transferred to Youdao only when necessary to return the definition you requested.
6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
EngABC's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the extension's single, user-facing purpose.
7. Security
External requests use HTTPS. EngABC requests access only to YouTube pages, Youdao Dictionary, and Chrome storage required by its current features. No method of transmission or local storage is completely secure.
8. Children
EngABC is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to online services in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information.
9. Changes and contact

EngABC 不会把完整字幕或本地显示设置发送到 EngABC 服务器。
4. 保存与删除
显示偏好会保留在 Chrome 本地存储中，直到你恢复默认、清除扩展存储或卸载 EngABC。EngABC 不保留远程副本。你可以通过卸载扩展或清除扩展存储删除本地数据。
5. 分享与禁止用途
我们不会出售用户数据，不会将其用于个性化广告或建立广告画像，也不会允许运营人员阅读你的字幕。只有在你请求释义时，所选单词才会为返回结果而发送给有道词典。
6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
EngABC 对通过 Chrome API 获得的信息之使用符合 Chrome Web Store 用户数据政策，包括 Limited Use 要求。信息只用于提供或改进扩展单一且面向用户的功能。
7. 安全
外部请求使用 HTTPS。EngABC 只申请当前功能所需的 YouTube、有道词典和 Chrome 存储权限。任何传输或本地存储方式都无法保证绝对安全。
8. 儿童隐私
EngABC 不面向低于其所在地区网络服务同意年龄的儿童，我们不会故意收集儿童个人信息。
9. 变更与联系
